PACKAGING

So recently Famous have rebranded and dropped the ‘by Sue Moxley’ to become just the one word. I think this is a smart move as most of the country (myself included!) have no idea who Sue Moxley is.. Anyway the bronzers come in little black pots with large mirrored screw on lids decorated in a leopard-esque pattern. I don’t know how practical this is as the lids are easily losable (if like me you often put things down and they literally disappear) and you can’t see what the shade is unless you check underneath each, but I’ve got to say there is something charming about the design. I also love the fact that each lid has a large mirror on the underside, great for you ladies on the move!

Each bronzer has its own small brush (pictured above) made of synthetic hair. Personally I am not a great fan of these brushes as the bristles feel stiff and with a baked powder you need a gentle natural hair brush to give the best colour payout and make it easy to blend.

THE PRODUCT

I would best describe this product to be the same as MAC’s Mineralize Skin Finish in feel, texture and consistency, but not in the same shades. I like this because Famous haven’t copied MAC, just created some new shades of a product. All shades are very highly pigmented and each has a golden shimmer. The bronzers have a great soft texture and blend beautifully into the skin with minimal effort. I also have to admit that I love the names of these products, Miami, Hawaii, Tahiti and Bali- they make me want to go on holiday! One downside I would say is that because they are baked, they can be rather fragile, I haven’t dropped one yet but I am dreading the day as I don’t think the soft powder would survive the impact! Nor can I say that compact would stop the powder going everywhere so I would be wary if carrying this one round in your handbag.

OVERALL

For the price I think Famous have created a really great product. If you are a fan MAC’s Mineralize Skin Finish then you should definitely pick yourself up some of these beauties! There is a great range of shades and I love the new quirky packaging. I would definitely recommend these and will be using them on my shoots as well as on myself!
